"The lights don't go out at five-o-clock at Van Duuren"
Markus van Griethuijsen is the logistics manager at BOSCH, part of the BSH Group
"It was an important moment for BOSCH: The opening of our new, bigger Info Center in Amsterdam Zuidoost. We had already arranged everything right down to the last detail, of course, but the opening day was approaching quickly and a number of new pieces of equipment that were to be displayed during the opening ceremony had not yet arrived.
For us it was unacceptable that the newest appliances would not arrive here on time from Italy. We had really pushed the boat out for this opening: The chairman of the board of the BSH Group was to make the opening speech, and we had invited all the top management of our most important customers. Cesar Zuiderwijk of the Golden Earring had been asked to provide the music.
Van Duuren Districenters arranged for express delivery from Italy for us. Just in time, as the appliances arrived on the day of the opening. I was nervous of course, and wondered whether everything would turn out all right. It's at time like this when you need to know who you can rely on. At Van Duuren Districenters they immediately recognized the problem, and really performed in the most customer friendly manner possible. It is good when you work with partners who know what's what.
The branch manager at Van Duuren, Stef Blommaart, knows a lot about the white goods business, and that helps of course, but in my eyes what is just as important is that they just get on with the work until the job's done. The lights don't go out at five-o-clock at Van Duuren."
