"Because we can offer a certain consignment each day we can take advantage of keen prices and first-rate service. This system always runs perfectly, and that's exactly what's intended. At Bol.com, monitoring processes is my most important work. In this, the right use of manpower is therefore a high priority. Deliveries such as these simply have to go by the book. I don't want the hassle of having to be on the phone chasing them every day, and with Van Duuren I can count on being spared this.
I also really appreciate the informal contact. We are a horizontal organization, and Van Duuren is too. The lines of communication are short, and that works really well. Recently, we had a consignment from Germany sent via a big international transport company and I had to wait five days just to get my international customer service number. That was really annoying of course, but it is at times like that when I appreciate Van Duuren Districenters' flexible attitude even more!"
Van Duuren collects consignments in the United Kingdom for Bol.com on a daily basis. At about 4 p.m. UK time the loads are collected at the book wholesalers in south-west England, and are delivered at the Bol warehouse in Waalwijk at 8 a.m. the following day. As a result of this tight planning, Bol's customers generally have their books delivered to their homes two days after placing the order.
