Environment and Quality

Environment

We look upon it as our duty to examine and evaluate with our partners the effect that our activities can have on the environment. Here at Van Duuren we endeavour constantly both to reduce and to avoid pollution of the environment, in so far as technical and economic conditions permit.
Increasing numbers of our clients are taking environmental aspects into account when selecting their suppliers of logistics services. Working towards a sustainable society has for many companies become a permanent feature of their management policy. Among other measures we are applying, we at Van Duuren Districenters are demonstrating our concern for the environment by the deployment of increasingly ‘green' trucks with engines that meet the Euro 5 standards. These vehicles generate NOx emissions that are 43 per cent lower than those with Euro 4-standard engines.

Quality

All products and services provided by Van Duuren Districenters meet with the NEN-EN-ISO 9001:2000 standard certified by Quality Masters. An internal audit was carried out at the beginning of January 2009 and, after one or two slight modifications, on 10 April 2009 the official ISO 9001 certificate was prolonged by three years.
An important aspect of ISO standardization is putting down on paper the promises that you make as a company. When we say that we deliver consignments within 48 hours, we also have to set this down in the ISO handbook. In addition, we have written an entire process description of our services, and of the role that our departments - sales, planning and customer services - play in this. The ISO certification gives Van Duuren Districenters a stronger position in their European international partnerships.
However, for us ISO certification is not a final goal as regards quality, but rather a starting point. Because we go further in the service we provide to our customer. This means putting the customer first, every time. It also means short lines of communication, a personal relationship and true commitment.
